Interview: Bewolf Fashion

July 24, 2015 5 min read

This month we had the pleasure of interviewing the very talentedBewolf Fashion. A mix of boho, gypsy, and grunge inspired outfits, her fearless fashion has inspired millions around the world. Among her many talents as a fashion blogger, she is also a very successful business owner. Read all about her journey into the world of blogging, fashion, and business. Happy reading!

Let us start off with the typical question: When and how did it all begin?

Bewolf is a little something that I started two years ago as a side project. I was on a mission to inspire the world through my personal vision and love for fashion. It started off with a few items for sale and it has since flourished into a full-time blog, website, online store, and accessory line.  I have always been extremely excited about the idea of working for myself, and with a little elbow grease and lots of support from loved ones and followers, I am finally spending 100% of my time on something I truly love and enjoy.  Every day is filled with an exciting little adventure.

Were there any inspirations or motivations in the making of Bewolf Fashion Blog?

Growing up, three girls and a single mom, spending money on designer clothes was not an option. Like every teenager, I was struggling with my own insecurities and the need to feel accepted. I always had to come up with a way of creating something that was similar to an expensive piece, and making it my own on a tight budget. As I got older, I realized what was once negative and a daily struggle, became something positive and allowed me to express myself through fashion. My amazing followers are also a big part of my daily motivation. They show me so much love and support. I’m so thankful for each and every one of them.  What touches me the most, is the fact that they take time out of their day to write me such sweet comments, it’s truly an inspiration.

Being fashion-savvy is a taste that takes time to cultivate and develop. You are always coming out with unique and exclusive looks that viewers fall in love with.  If any, what challenges do you face to be so creative, coming up with such amazing looks every time, or does it just come naturally?

There are definitely challenging moments, but most of the time it comes naturally. I would have to say the hardest part would be doing it on a daily basis. Like anything else, there are days where I feel less inspired or less creative, but always feel the need to post something daily. I can literally change my outfit 3 to 4 times before heading out for a shoot, and other days, I just wake up and know exactly what I wanna wear and 20 minutes later, I’m ready ;)  Another big challenge is definitely finding a location to take the pictures. There’s only so many alleys, back walls, factories, businesses... At some point, you’ve pretty much done them all. lol. So it can be difficult at times, but I wouldn’t change it for any other job.

With the fashion shows, photo editing, and a closet full of delightful apparel: the life of a fashion blogger seems like so much fun! But it must take a lot of time, effort, and dedication. Along with the wonderful joys and privileges, can you share any difficulties or challenges you face(d) as a fashion blogger?

As much as I love working for myself, I’m a one women show and pretty much do it all. It definitely consumes a huge part of my life and can be very tiresome. I literally work 24/7 and the fact that I’m a perfectionist doesn’t make things easier. I just can’t let the little things go. lol

Everyone has their own fun little hobbies and personal interests! Can you please share what other activities you enjoy outside of fashion blogging and what best interests you?

Shopping!!! lol . No, I’m just kidding!!! Well maybe not ;)  Nothing like treating yourself to a little retail therapy. Recently I’ve been obsessing with DIY projects and revamping furniture. Keeping fit always makes me feel better, gotta love Zumba… Rollerblading with the hubby…  Dancing and listening to music… But most importantly, spending time with the family.

Who would you say is your biggest influence?

It might sound cheesy, but I would have to say my mom. She is such an elegant and poised women. She exudes femininity. For as long as I can remember, I used to play dress up in her closet. She had the best wardrobe ever!!! She’s a constant reminder that you can look good at any age.

People tend to grow a liking towards certain accessories and fashion pieces. Whether it be rings, maxi skirts, heels, or dresses; what is your favorite type of accessory or clothing piece, and how does it play a role in your amazing looks?

I would definitely say my silver cuffs. I do love my hats, jewelry and let’s not forget about bags and shoes!!! ;)  I guess I’m naming everything on your list… lol  But seriously, I think I would have to say my cuffs. I wear them everywhere. Their permanently stuck to me.

You have an amazing shop that offers very unique pieces, what are your influences when it comes to designing your products?

I tend to get inspired by different cultures and ethnicities. I love the gypsy boho vibes, the bright colors, mixing prints and patterns. I create each piece based on something I would personally wear.

Here's a fun question that'll get us to know you better!: What is your favorite color, movie, book, food/drink, and place to be (if any)?

Even if it’s not considered a color, I would have to say white. I just love the purity of it.  As for the movies, I might seem girly, but I do like a good horror movie, especially from the 80’s and 90’s. They’re the best!!!   Books… only if it has pictures in it…lol I’m not much of a reader.  For the drinks, I gotta have my daily dose of Coffee and Green Tea. And finally, as for the places to be... I would love to go to Tokyo, Spain or even Thailand. They're all so different, but they seem to represent me in different ways.

Lastly, what do you feel is your biggest accomplishment?

Definitely what I’m doing now. I have worked very hard on building my blog, my followers and my company and I must say it’s my biggest accomplishment. I’m so grateful to all my fans and companies like ZEROUV, who’ve shown nothing but love and allow me to do what I love on a daily basis. I’m so excited to see what the future has in store for me!!!

Thanks you to the lovely Katia for taking the time to let us get to know her better! We can see why so many people world-wide love her style and grace! She is truly a sweetheart. We hoped you enjoyed this month's blogger diaries. Until next time!

xoxo,
